### Michael Schumacher’s Ferrari F2001 Breaks Auction Records
In an electrifying event for car enthusiasts, Michael Schumacher’s 2001 Ferrari F2001, specifically chassis #211, achieved a monumental sale price of €15.98 million ($18.19 million) at RM Sotheby’s auction. This record-breaking sale occurred during the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix weekend, a first for Formula 1 auctions in the principality.
### The Iconic ‘Crown Jewel’
Chassis #211 earned its crown jewel status through its stellar performances. It led Schumacher to triumph at the 2001 Monaco Grand Prix and later clinched victory at the Hungarian Grand Prix, securing his fourth Driver’s Championship. This significant chassis also contributed to Ferrari’s Constructors’ title that year, famously achieving both a Monaco win and a World Championship in the same season.
### Engineering Excellence
Created by Ferrari’s elite team in Modena, featuring Jean Todt, Ross Brawn, Rory Byrne, and Schumacher himself, the F2001 is a marvel of engineering. With a 3.0-liter V10 engine delivering 825 horsepower at a blazing 17,000 rpm, this car produced a sound synonymous with Formula 1’s golden era.
### Historic Auction Milestones
This sale overshadowed previous records for Schumacher-era cars. In 2017, chassis #219 of the F2002 model fetched $7.5 million, marking a turning point in the recognition of F1 collectibles. More recently, in 2022, Schumacher’s 2003 F2003-GA, chassis #229, sold for CHF 14.6 million ($14.8 million), showcasing the enduring allure of these machines.
### A Sale with a Cause
Beyond its historical significance, a portion of the proceeds will support the ‘Keep Fighting Foundation’. This charity honors Schumacher’s legacy and continues his charitable efforts post-2013 accident.
